Mr. Uchechukwu Ofoha is a native of Amucha, Njaba Local Government Area, in Imo-State, Nigeria. He hails from the Igbo tribe. A tribe of people with an unquenchable and fierce desire for success, even in the face of intense trials, challenges and difficulties.
He received his early education in Imo-State, Nigeria where he had to change schools frequently due to the nature of his father’s job. He eventually graduated from the prestigious Technological & Economic Development Mission (TEDEM) College, Imerienwe – Owerri, Imo-State, Nigeria. A secondary school whose academic muscles are unshakeable. An intellectual giant on whose shoulders he stood and made the leap to the historic Howard University in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
He started his volunteer acts canvassing for the Obama campaign during the 2008 presidential race. He gained enormous grassroots experience that confirmed the strength of a relentless movement for change. This movement for change led to the growth of the Better Health Initiative Corporation (BHI).

Mr. Ofoha founded the Better Health Initiative Corporation (BHI) in 2004. A global health organization focused on promoting optimal health globally through health fairs that emphasize disease prevention, health maintenance and wellness. BHI has conducted numerous health outreach events in underserved communities in Washington, D.C., and Nigeria. Under his leadership, BHI has assessed the health status and offered interventions and preventive health and wellness teachings to over 3,700 individuals. In the next two years, BHI strive to provide care to over 8,500 individuals.

BHI has earnestly supported young African Scholars in Africa with tuition assistance and school supplies, and consistently instilled in them the need for hard work, perseverance, and the importance of giving back to their society through community/volunteer services.

Courtesy of Mr. Ofoha’s relentless volunteer work, he was awarded the White House – President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award by the African & Caribbean Faith-Based Leadership Conference during the 10th anniversary of the African & Caribbean International Leadership Conference & Awards Gala held in Washington, D.C on the 18th of November 2023.

In a bid to foster his global health initiative, he enrolled and graduated with a certificate in the Management of Health Emergencies in Large Population (H.E.L.P.) from the Center for Humanitarian Health at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, U.S.A. in the summer of 2024. The knowledge he gained further equipped him with the arsenal needed to provide humanitarian assistance in low-and middle-income countries.

Mr. Uchechukwu Ofoha prides himself in his dedicated quest for promoting quality healthy living around the globe. He commits himself totally to this course.
